Short Courses: Flexible Learning That Counts

ASDAN (the Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network) is a UK-based education awarding organisation with a powerful mission: to engage, elevate, and empower learners with diverse needs. Through courses, accredited curriculum programmes, and regulated qualifications, ASDAN has spent decades developing frameworks that honour the full spectrum of how young people learn.

UWC Thailand is a fully accredited ASDAN centre — trained, verified, and quality-checked to deliver ASDAN programmes with integrity. This accreditation reflects our ongoing commitment to providing rigorous, personalised learning pathways for every student. Across our Secondary School, we offer ASDAN Short Courses to a wide range of learners, alongside more detailed and internationally recognised qualifications such as the IAP – International Award Programme for our older students.

ASDAN Short Courses offer structured, skills-based learning across a range of areas. Whether used as extension activities for younger learners, as a supplementary pathway for students who benefit from a more personalised approach, or to build credits toward a full ASDAN qualification, these courses create genuine opportunities for growth. We currently offer eight Short Courses: Foodwise, Gardening, Stepping Stones, Key Steps, Expressive Arts, Mathematics, Volunteering, and Football. Each course develops practical skills alongside personal, social, and work-related competencies — the kinds of qualities that matter well beyond the classroom.

Student Spotlight

Recently, Charlotte (Grade 11) completed the Gardening Short Course facilitated by Kru Care. Together, they cultivated practical gardening skills and documented over 60 hours of dedicated work — earning Charlotte all 6 credits for the course. A fantastic achievement that reflects exactly the spirit of what ASDAN is about. Well done, Charlotte, and thank you, Kru Care!
