Kerstin Bender

Director of Sport, Activities, and Camps, High Performance Athlete Coordinator, Head of Department Physical Education, and Assistant house parent

 

Kerstin joins UWC Thailand after working for three years at the Western Academy of Beijing in China and Stonehill International School in Bangalore, India, for five years. She also has experience teaching at state and private schools in her home country Germany. Kerstin holds a Teaching Degree in Physical Education and English from the University of Landau, Germany, and an M.Ed. in Athletics Administration from Endicott College, Massachusetts, USA.

As an educator, she is passionate and dedicated to providing the best possible learning opportunities for the students in her care. Kerstin enjoys working in an international environment where people from all strands of the world come together to build one community with a common goal. Schools benefit from her enthusiasm, positive outlook, and strong organizational skills.

Kerstin came to Phuket together with her family. Her husband Ismaël has joined the school as a boarding parent. Their son Kalani has joined the Mini-Mantas three and had a baby boy join the family this past spring. Kerstin looks forward to becoming a part of this community and helping to move UWC Thailand further in achieving its current and future goals. As a family, they are excited about exploring all the outdoor activities and sports Phuket has to offer.
