Diploma Programme Admissions
Every year over 7,500 young students join the UWC movement to study the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme across one of the 18 schools.
Each UWC school has its own distinct character and identity, influenced by its host country, the specific setting, cultural context, and community. What makes each one of them a UWC is a deliberately diverse student body, with students coming from all over the world, bringing with them very different backgrounds to learn and live together – and their joint mission to make education a force for peace and sustainability. To facilitate this admission of students from diverse social-economic backgrounds there are three entry routes for families to consider.
Grade 11 Day Students
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme students who reside in Phuket, or will reside in Phuket at time of enrolment, may apply directly to UWC Thailand as day students.
Global Selection Programme
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme students seeking to apply for and attend a UWC Boarding Programme and do not need financial assistance may apply through the Global Selection Programme.
UWC Scholarships
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme students seeking to apply for a UWC placement with scholarship opportunities may apply through the National Committee in their country or region.

We welcome applications from students around the world throughout the school year. We encourage those interested in applying to UWC Thailand to visit our school first when possible. UWC Thailand is an inclusive school, and our admissions goal is to build a diverse community of learners. To do this, acceptance is based on aptitude, language, behaviour, academic record, and our ability to help each student maximise their potential within the context of existing class dynamics. We review each applicant on a case-by-case basis to determine enrolment suitability. When we offer admission, we are welcoming the whole family to UWC so it is important that everyone is aware of, and aligned with, the UWC Thailand mission and values.
