UWC Thailand is a non-profit, Council of International Schools (CIS)-accredited international school on the beautiful island of Phuket which offers a holistic, transformative, and rigorous International Baccalaureate continuum education from age 2 to grade 12, including both day and boarding students.

Global Citizenship at UWC Thailand

At UWC Thailand, we believe a transformative global citizen is one who values and proactively seeks out a range of views and perspectives that are different from their own. 
Transformative global citizens at UWC Thailand listen to understand and examine ideas that challenge their own, and then enjoy the complexity this brings, as an essential component of their imperative drive to unite with others for peace and a more sustainable world.

Educating global citizens at UWC Thailand requires explicitly providing learning opportunities for students to develop the competencies, skills, attitudes, and values, that equip them with mental flexibility, humility, and a deep curiosity for perspectives other than their own.
Students at UWC Thailand are encouraged to reflect on their own identities as local, national and global citizens. Deep engagement in personal thought, in dialogue, and in community engagement with others on issues of significance from different levels of scope (personal, school, local, national, and global) is the basis for global citizenship.
