Matthew (Matt) Pugliese
Grade 4 Teacher
Matt joined UWC Thailand in 2020 after teaching for 12 years in Korea, Colombia, and Vietnam. He believes that teaching and learning experiences should be centred around developing life-long learning habits and skills in order to become resilient people who are capable of adapting to the challenges of the future. He encourages students to take ownership of their learning and explore their curiosity. They feel empowered to make challenging decisions, reflect on their experiences, and make appropriate adjustments. He believes it is important to provide a safe environment for students to express themselves, advocate for their beliefs, embrace mistakes and take risks. Matt enjoys sharing his hobbies with students which include photography, camping, and sports.
Matt is here with his wife, Holly and their baby, Sunny, who is also excited to be a part of the UWC Thailand community.
