Laurie Stone
Comprehensive Counsellor
Laurie is originally from Canada and joined UWC Thailand in 2017. She has taught both Primary Years Programme and Middle Years Programme, and is Diploma Programme trained in Psychology. Her previous international schools were in South Korea, Bangkok, Hong Kong and Peru. She is a lifelong learner and has recently finished her fourth university degree with a Graduate diploma in School Guidance and Counselling. Her previous degrees are BA Honors Psychology, Bachelor of Education and Master of Education. After teaching for 22 years, she has shifted her career to School Counselling. With her teaching experience and school counselling education, she supports students with their well-being and learning. She works across both the primary and secondary schools, supporting the social and emotional needs of students, as well as helping Grade 11 and 12 students explore their post-secondary options and apply for universities. Outside of school, Laurie stays balanced by being active through running, going to the gym or playing sports like volleyball or basketball. She also enjoys scuba diving, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
