Learning Support & Special Needs

Erica joined UWC Thailand in 2008 as part of the school’s founding team, and is the Primary School’s Learning Support teacher. Erica is a proud graduate of Kansas State University (GO CATS!) with a Bachelors in Elementary Education and a Masters Degree in Special Education, with an emphasis in Autism, Functional and Adaptive Needs. She has furthered her qualifications through trainings in the Orton Gillingham approach, Autism Exercise Specialist and the ASDAN programme. Erica is highly respected by educators and parents, and adored by her students. She has a kind and energetic demeanor, and is an exceptional listener. The best interest of the child is always her first priority. Erica believes a team approach is the best way to support the child, family and teachers, and always brings ideas and possible solutions to any situation. Erica is here with her husband, Elisha, her two fabulous daughters, Zawadi and Imani, and their rambunctious cat Tinkles. She is beyond grateful for her opportunities to travel and see the world with her family. Erica loves a good challenge in the kitchen, reading mystery novels and spending time with her family.
