Demeke Wondmagegn
Secondary Mathematics and Economics Teacher
Demeke Admasu Wondmagegn was born in Ethiopia where he attended public schools until he was in Grade 11. He won full scholarships to attend the United World College of South East Asia (in Singapore) and Colby College in the United States thereafter. Since his experience at both prestigious institutions, Demeke has attempted to live by the principle: “If you earn, you should give. If you learn, you should teach '' and hence has been teaching Mathematics and Economics both at home and abroad since he completed his tertiary education.
He loves to learn how cognitive psychology and purpose shape and improve learning. Demeke continues to be grateful for being an integral part of the UWC mission of making education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future.
