Chotika (Oil) Buachai
Learning Support Teaching Assistant
Oil is a Phuket native and joined UWC Thailand in 2019 as a Learning Support Assistant focused on students who have special learning needs in Primary and Secondary. Previously she worked in another international school in Phuket and Bangkok for about 8 years of experience as a class teacher assistant for early childhood education. She graduated from Prince of Songkla University with a Bachelor’s degree in Art in the French language. Oil participated in the cultural exchange program in the USA called AUPAIRCARE LIFE in Child Care for 2 years, staying with her host family in San Francisco, California. During the program, she had an opportunity to take an ESL class at the City College of San Francisco and many short courses about babies and toddlers from the clinic centre. Outside of her school life, she spends most of the time with her adopted daughter, homeschooling and doing kids outdoor activities together. Oil’s passions include gardening, drawing cartoons, relaxing on the beach, cafes and restaurants. She loves children, is interested in child development and is always improving her teaching methods.
